All Screwed Up
A-nom-a-ly: something that deviates from what is standard, normal or expected; an oddity, peculiarity, irregularity, inconsistency, incongruity, a rarity. We're Angela and Jen, two friends who have realized that our geek-girl perspectives should be set upon the masses, like a swarm of escaped nanites infecting an unsuspecting computer core. Our podcast features sci-fi and fantasy discussions from the perspective of fan--GIRLS!

The Theme Show is a music cast where I pick a theme every other week and play songs with that theme in the title. For example, the first episode, titled "Space is the Place" features "I'm the Urban Spaceman" by Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, "Space Oddity" by David Bowie, and "Space Age Love Song" by Eleven Shadows (a cover of the Flock of Seagulls Song), among others.

ALIENS IN THE PRIME OF THEIR LIVES
Stories
Brad Watson
Dark and brilliant tales capturing the strangeness of human (and almost-human) life
In this, his first collection of stories since his celebrated, award-winning LAST DAYS OF THE DOG MEN, Brad Watson takes us even deeper into the riotous, appalling, and mournful oddity of human beings.
In prose so perfectly pitched as to suggest some celestial harmony, he writes about every kind of domestic discord: unruly or distant children, alienated spouses, domestic abuse, loneliness, death, divorce. In his masterful title novella, a freshly-married teenaged couple are visited by an unusual pair of inmates from a nearby insane asylum—and find out exactly how mismatched they really are.
With exquisite tenderness, Watson relates the brutality of both nature and human nature. His tragedies are scripted with a graceful hand, and he has an unfailing nose for dark hilarity and comic disaster, too.
There’s no question about it. Brad Watson writes so well – with such an all-seeing, six-dimensional view of human hopes and inadequacies and rare grace – he must be an extraterrestrial.
Brad Watson teaches creative writing at the University of Wyoming, Laramie. His first collection, Last Days of the Dog-Men, won the Sue Kauffman Award for First Fiction from the American Academy of Arts & Letters, and his first novel, The Heaven of Mercury, was a Finalist for the National Book Award.
