Plastic Galaxy: The Story of Star Wars Toys
The number of popular conspiracy theories and the speed at which they spread is growing. Over a third of Americans believe their government did not tell them the truth about 9/11. A third of Britons believes that Princess Diana did not die an accidental death. Cyberspace is bursting with sites dedicated to theories about JFK, UFOs, or Area 51. Looking at these events and others, this film reveals how our societys mistrust for government has created a culture of doubt. It examines the ways that fearful people find comfort in the order and explanations that conspiracy theories provide. But it also discusses how conspiracy theories frequently discourage honest discourse, and, historically, have led to disaster. Conspiracy Rising takes a hard, penetrating look at the psycho-social and philosophical roots of conspiracy theories, examining who tends to believe in them and why.

Part 1 in the Zeitgeist Series: Mythology and belief in society today, presenting uncommon perspectives of common cultural issues.
Zeitgeist: The Movie
For more than 80 years doctors and scientists on all sides have experimented on humans to perfect weapons of mass destruction - often with fatal results. This is the terrible, and sometimes absurd, untold story. The latest episode of Dirk Pohlmanns Cold War Secrets series actually starts in the 1930s, when Japans notorious Unit 731 carried out brutal experiments on the population of recently invaded Manchuria. Whole villages and towns were deliberately infected with plague, and sufferers were dissected alive. Prisoners of war were shot and operated on without anaesthetic so army doctors could practise field surgery. In World War II Germany, concentration camp doctors like Josef Mengele selected twins and Romany prisoners for obscure medical experiments, and killed enemy prisoners in low temperature or high altitude tests, supposedly to protect their own sailors and airmen.
