Currently there are new search technologies arising which are helping pave the way for more practical use of Flash. For the first time ever Flash is searchable.
Finally a search engine has adopted the task of including Flash documents in its indexing efforts. For as long as flash has been a favorite for rich, compelling media it has been hated for its poor search optimization abilities.
Flash is a program that produces rich media and enhanced interactivity. The search engines used by Yahoo, Google, and other sites could not search Flash files because Flash embeds all of its content into a single file. But now Ask.com has new spider technology that will read Flash web content that is embedded in the Flash file. The new spider technology can actually index all of Flash’s text making it searchable. Currently Google and Yahoo do not spider flash content
Research and quick tests on Ask.com found many Flash projects that had never before popped up in a search results list. Although Google and Yahoo are superior in other regions of search technologies, Ask.com has forged another feature that will soon become a search standard, not unlike like when Google launched their image search feature.
