Naked Boys Singing! sings the praises of male nudity and the cast includes a multi-talented, racially diverse selection of singers, dancers, and actors who bare it all on the BIG screen. Naked Boys Singing!
Plum Village is a zen-buddhist village in South of France belonging to world-famous zen-master Thich Nhat Hanh from Vietnam.

Thich Nhat Hanh was exiled from Vietnam and since has lived in France where together with Sister Chan Khong, he built up Plum Village.

Even Martin Luther King nominated him for the Peace Nobel Prize.

He supports orphans, refugees, political prisoners, buddhist monks and nuns as well as helps when there are nature catastrophes, and he is an environmentalist.

In November 2012, actress, singer, children's book author Eliane Chappuis, travelled to Plum Village and with the permission of Sister Chan Khong she filmed this documentary film ''One week in Plum Village''. Eliane shows in a straightforward way what a one week stay in Plum Village is like.

She shows the different practices like walking and sitting meditation.
How they eat in silence and stop everything they do when hearing a bell, to be aware of the present moment.

The documentary film is accompanied by music from the album ''Plumvillage Kid'' where Eliane sings poems by Thich Nhat Hanh.

Music --
There are all sorts of opportunities for folks to make music here at MUMC. If you have a desire to develop and share your musical talents, we invite you to be a part of any or all of the musical groups we offer.
Chancel Choir --
The Chancel Choir sings each Sunday at our 10:45 a.m. worship service, and rehearses at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday. The chancel choir also participates in special concerts periodically offered by the church. This choir presents choral pieces ranging in style from contemporary to gospel to classical. All youth and adults are welcome to participate in this fun-loving, hard-working group.
Praise Choir --
The Praise Choir is responsible for leading music and worship at the 8:30 Spirit Celebration service each Sunday. The music at this service sounds a lot like the kind of music many of us listen to at home or in the car, so if you enjoy singing contemporary music, this may be the choir for you. The Praise Choir rehearses at 7:00 p.m. each Friday. The Praise Choir also performs at special services and concerts from time to time.
Praise Band --
Do you play a musical instrument that might fit into a contemporary band? Come join the MUMC Praise Band! We're not just looking for guitar players and drummers-at various times, we have had instruments such as mandolins, steel guitars, trombones, and saxophones playing in the band. The MUMC Praise Band plays each Sunday at the 8:30 Spirit Celebration, and rehearses along with the Praise Choir at 7:00 p.m. each Friday. The Praise Band will often accompany the Praise Choir at special services and concerts.
Trinity Dove Children's Choir --
All children are welcome to participate in our children's choir, rehearsals TBD. The Trinity Dove Choir typically sings during the 10:45 worship service on a monthly basis.
Handbell Choir --
Whether you are an experienced ringer or have never picked up a handbell in your life, you are invited to join MUMC's handbell choir. The choir performs at the 10:30 (10:45 starting 10 Sept) worship service several times a year, and at other special services and concerts. The choir rehearses weekly.
Youth Handbell Choir --
Youth bell choir takes place on Thursdays at 5:00. Children in grades four and up are welcome. It is not necessary to know how to read music to participate.
MUMC Christmas Concert Band --
Quite often (but not every year), as Christmas approaches, we gather any and all of our members and friends who have ever played a band instrument to re-form our famous MUMC Christmas Concert Band. After a few rehearsals of some relatively easy concern band pieces, the Band performs at the Christmas Concert. So, keep your flutes, clarinets, trumpets, etc. handy and join in the fun!
The Famous MUMC Vacation Bible School Band --
Vacation Bible School at MUMC is always an amazing time, and the VBS band is a big part of making it happen. This rockin' band is charged with leading the music for our annual Vacation Bible School. Electric guitarists, bass players, drummers, and singers are always welcome to come and rock out with us as we do our best to make VBS a great and memorable time for the many kids who come every night of our week-long program.
