Live coverage of the Super Tuesday primaries.
Super Tuesday 2020
The history of the United States, from the first Americans to the 2008 presidential election! (well, the primaries, at least)
Mr. Hureau's U.S. History KIPPodcast
"The Bully Pulpit Series: Reflections on Presidential Communication" is a series hosted by the College of Charleston and its Department of Communication that welcomes presidential candidates from the two major political parties to the College of Charleston campus to discuss the importance of presidential communication. Candidates speak with students and Charleston community members on such topics as the frequency of press conferences, the candidates relationship with journalists, and the power of the president to persuade. This non-partisan series will take place in the 12 months prior to the South Carolina presidential primaries, the first primaries to be held in the South. Allstate Insurance Company is the title sponsor for the series. The series is also supported by the Department of Communication Advisory Council. Visit www.cofc.edu/bullypulpit for further information and updates on additional Presidential Candidates participating in The Bully Pulpit Series.
The Bully Pulpit Series in Presidential Communication
Since January 10th 2006, The Ploy has been bringing listeners a mix of talk, comedy and interviews. A show with a track record of unearthing talent and interesting people with early interviews featuring such people as James Kotecki and Leith K. Brooks going on to mainstream attention in publications and platforms such as the New York Times, FOX and Politico.
Interviews with already prominent personalities like Rove McManus ("Rove", "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?"), John Melendez ("The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "The Howard Stern Show"), Alan Fletcher ("Neighbours"), Kristie Lu Stout (CNN International), Chantelle Barry (90210, Entourage) and many others have showcased a different side of their personalities and given them a unique platform to go in-depth on their topics of expertise and interest.
A mix of smart interviews, comedy and genuine conversation The Ploy is a look back at the week that was, intertwining serious discussion with light hearted conversations and comedy pieces. With a range of content to cover as diverse as our audience, we try and keep it light, but when possible we aren't afraid to tackle bigger issues. We believe that no matter how big or small your platform you need to use it to the best of your ability, to push for discussion on important issues effecting the world today.
Special episodes reflecting back on the 2008 Presidential Election and the Presidential Primaries received attention from various online outlets and other specials including a short run series on the Australian Governments planned Internet Censorship scheme received praise as well as our various specials highlighting GLBT issues.
The Ploy enters its 5th season on January 10, 2010 and enters the year with a strengthened line-up of presenters and contributors and its strongest listening figures ever.
