Analysis of national politics, featuring occasional injections of rumor and innuendo, all offered up by our panel of political insiders, pundits, power brokers, public servants, and, most importantly, plain-speaking Americans from coast-to-coast. The program began as Inside Politics on WBEZ-FM/Chicago in 1980 and offers a fresh, spirited and balanced analysis of national affairs. Beyond the Beltway originates in Chicago, broadcasting there on flagship station WLS-AM, and nationwide on more than 60 major stations. Host Bruce DuMont is one of the Midwest's most quoted political analysts, and also a civic leader, as Founder and President of The Museum of Broadcast Communications, one of only two broadcast museums in the United States. The Museum includes America's only Radio Hall of Fame, which DuMont brought to Chicago in 1991.
