The Tin Dog welcomes you to sit back and listen to his rants and ramblings about all thatââ¬â¢s best in modern SF and Television. Via the gift of the new fangled Podcast over the tinterweb.
As you can probably guess Tin Dog mostly talks about Doctor Who, Torchwood and Sarah Jane Smith but that wont stop him talking about any other subject you suggest.
Hailing from a non specific part of the northeast of England, Tin Dog is male and in his mid 30s. A life long fan of almost all TV SF. His semi-autistic tendencies combined with his total lack of social skills have helped him find a place in the heart of British SF Fandom.
Even as a child the Tin Dogs mother told him that she can trace his love of SF TV back to his rhythmic kicking, while still in the womb, along to the beat of the Avengers theme music.
From Gabriel Chase to Totters Lane, from the Bad Wolf Satellite to the back streets of the Cardiff, Tin Dog will give you his thoughts on the wonderful Whoniverse.

This is an experiment. I’m writing this post in the hope that we can generate some lively discussion. It’s time for some controversy. MY QUESTION :: There are a lot of beautifully-designed movies with bad stories out there. In your opinion, why? I don’t think that the highly-trained, highly-skilled visual artists outnumber the highly-skilled, highly-trained [...]

To a human, it is a revolutionary convenience, but to a fairy it is a hostile environment. Here are some of the set designs that I painted for the antique car that is featured prominently in the girl-power finale of Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue which is now available on DVD & Blu [...]

Issue #54 of ImagineFX magazine is hitting shelves in the U.S. THIS WEEK. As many of you know, I was interviewed in this issue about my podcast. The article is short but unbelievably flattering. AND (shocking) they printed THREE of my paintings! I had a lot more to say about the inspiration behind the show [...]

I THINK THIS IS MY BEST PIECE OF 2009: It represents a personal victory in the areas of spontaneity, loose-tight balance, strong drawing, appeal through silhouette and of course, character. …ALL of the areas within which I have been focusing my efforts. The irony of the previous statements is that I did this piece LAST [...]

I have to make this post quick. My apologies – I’ll make it up to you in the future. Another thing that I like about this piece is that it shows the Tin Man at peace. He’s enjoying a leisurely stroll through the woods during the Fall. It seems appropriate that a Woodsman as gentle and [...]

In our most recent installment of the Disney Fairies series, the Fairies of Pixie Hollow travel to the mainland (rural England) and set up a Fairy Camp. A few of my Disney colleagues attended a painting workshop that was taught by Jedi Master Dan McCaw. My favorite character from the Oz stories? The Tin Woodsman. I love the fact that he’s this sort of indestructible robot but he lacks a heart. Who can’t relate to that? We’ve all lost heart and grown cold and rusty to the point where we get stuck, frozen in one spot, pantomiming a singular repetitive motion – like [...]

Last year, I began work on a series of designs based on the story of Oz, with plans to collect them into a concept art book similar to The Skillful Huntsman. I may still publish that book some day, but my plans were confounded when, right after my decision to do an Oz book, Marvel Comics released an AMAZING adaptation of The [...]
