Maxims of Hi-Tech: Rules of Engagement for a Fast Changing Environment or how to thrive in what is the extreme sport of business.
This series is drawn from Dan's daily e-letter, The Chip Insider. Dan's Maxims are the lessons learned from the winners and the countless losers. They are an attempt to codify these lessons into a basic set of rules that can be treated as a handbook for competing in high technology. He chose to call these maxims, as they are not hard and fast rules. In fact, a close reading will find maxims that conflict with each other. Similar to life, the key to your success will be in developing an understanding of how to balance the conflicting elements and when to apply one and not the other. With that in mind, it starts with the first Maxim, which is something of a disclaimer:There are no rules without exception. Then follows with Study the great leaders and Maxims are easy to know but hard to practice.
